PageNotice (see: Mediawikiwiki:Extension:PageNotice) is an extension for MediaWiki that allows Administrators to automatically place certain text on all pages in a given namespace. It was installed on Saintapedia on April 15, 2011.

Use

The extension requires a file to be placed in the MediaWiki namespace for each namespace that you want to have a banner included. It uses the number assigned to the namespace. Wikipedia's page Wikipedia:Help:Namespaces has common namespaces.

Notes

1. Only admins of the wiki can create/edit pages in the Mediawiki namespace. See this link for a list of people in various roles.
2. Notices can be placed at the top or the bottom of the page. A file is created for each case and for each namespace as needed.

Current uses on Saintapedia

1. Mediawiki:top-notice-ns-1 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages on the Talk pages in the main article space.
2. Top-notice-ns-3 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the User talk namespace
3. Top-notice-ns-5 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the Saintapedia talk namespace
4. Top-notice-ns-6 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the File namespace
5. Top-notice-ns-7 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the File talk namespace
6. Top-notice-ns-9 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the File talk namespace
7. Top-notice-ns-101 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the Portal talk namespace
8. Top-notice-ns-11 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the Template talk namespace
9. Top-notice-ns-13 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the Help talk namespace
10. Top-notice-ns-15 - adds the {{Talk header}} to all pages in the Category talk namespace

Checking all pages in the MediaWiki namespace is one way to check if any are added to Saintapedia.
