Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church was established on June 20, 1996, as a consolidation of two missions, Christ Our King Mission of Greensboro and Christ Our Savior Mission of Eatonton. This parish came into being to serve the Catholic community in Greene County and the surrounding areas, particularly those around Lake Oconee. The parish has grown from its inception, reflecting the demographic changes in the area with an influx of retirees and seasonal residents.
