History

Holy Infant Catholic Church was established in 1962, making it Reidsville's first Catholic church. Before its establishment, local Catholics had to travel to Greensboro or Winston-Salem for Mass. The first resident pastor, Father Edward O'Doherty, arrived in 1967, significantly contributing to the church's visibility and community engagement. The church has been known for its commitment to serving the Hispanic community, with Spanish Masses introduced in 1980. This migrant ministry has continued, growing to include numerous outreach activities and a vibrant community gathering around the Sunday Spanish Mass.[1]

  • The parish is particularly noted for its strong Hispanic community presence, offering regular Spanish Masses which attract congregants from outside Reidsville, including from Greensboro where no regular Spanish Mass is available.
