CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. is an American cybersecurity technology company based in Austin, Texas. It provides cloud workload and endpoint security, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services.[1][2] The company has been involved in investigations of several high-profile cyberattacks, including the 2014 Sony Pictures hack, the 2015–16 cyber attacks on the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and the 2016 email leak involving the DNC.[3][4]
Company history with DOE
- In 2022, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), in relation an the Executive Order, began working on Endpoint Detection Response (EDR). Several sites had deployed EDR capabilities, and CDM is identifying where EDR has been deployed, where is it 4 in the process of being deployed, and what are the gaps. The gaps will be addressed through a CDM funded capability, which will be “Crowd Strike.”[5]
- In January 2023, NNSA selected CrowdStrike as the unclassified solution as the Endpoint Detection and Response Tool and SentinelOne as the classified solution.
