Team member roles

While each of the companies named in the M&O contract are considered subcontractors, there are some major differences that distinguish them from other companies that perform subcontracting work for LANL.

Here’s what sets the team members apart from the rest:

  • Member subcontractors are committed to the LANL mission and to the success of the entire Triad team.
  • Member subcontractors have a shared destiny with Triad in the overall contract implementation process – they are “graded” and held accountable for the Laboratory’s performance as a team.
  • Member subcontractors are included in strategic and tactical planning, and in solution development when issues arise.
  • Because the contracts with the named companies have been fully competed and the work scope for each has been established, these subcontractors don’t need to “bid” (in the traditional sense) for each job that arises.
  • There is no Organization Conflict of Interest (OCI) associated with the work plans that team members develop for each project. Instead, these subcontractors are involved in project planning from the very start. In this way, they can provide necessary information and resources in a timely and appropriate manner, which is a win-win for the entire team.
