History
Divino Nino Jesus Mission in Duluth, Georgia, was established in 2001 to cater to the growing Hispanic Catholic community in the Northeast Metro area of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. It initially operated out of a strip shopping center before an electrical fire in 2007 forced the community to relocate temporarily. The mission then moved into a new, permanent building in 2009 at its current location, which was dedicated in November of that year. This transition was significant as it marked the mission's growth from a small congregation to a more established community center for Spanish-speaking Catholics.
Divino Nino Jesus is named after the Colombian devotion to the Divine Child Jesus, reflecting the cultural heritage of many of its parishioners. The church has been pivotal in providing religious services, community support, and fostering cultural identity among its members. It has also expanded its ministry to include adult education, reflecting the diverse socio-economic backgrounds of its congregation.[1][2]
