Below is a list of popular basic banner templates. See Adding a template for further details.
- {{Notice}} - Help:Banners allow you to put generic message boxes on pages and sections.
- {{Cleanup}} - used to identify pages that need work and adds them to Category:Articles for cleanup.
- {{Out of date}} - used to flag articles with old data.
- Historic content

- Generic historic banner{{Historic editor}}
(formerly{{Historic user}}
) - used when a Powerpedian leaves DOE, usually when their email becomes inactive; for employees/contractors who became Powerpedia editors by creating an account{{Historic employee}}
- to be added to biographies that have left DOE (usually individuals in Leadership positions{{Historic org}}
- For organization that are abolished, usually due to a reorg, used to identify organizational pages where the org no longer exists or somehow morphed into something else. The narrative on the page should also be converted to past tense and key establishment/disestablishment dates clearly identified if known.{{Historic system}}
- Information systems that have been retire, replaced by other another information system, their pilot has ended, etc.
- {{Archive recommendation}} - Suggest a page be archived
- {{Error}} - Used to flag errors if the user is not comfortable making the change themselves.
- {{Delete}} - used to mark a page deletion. It also puts the article into Category:Delete
- {{Intern stub}} - flagged to be expanded by Powerpedia interns
- {{OrphanFile}} - used to call attention to the fact that the uploaded document is orphaned.
- {{Merge}} - suggest 2 or more articles have the same content/topic and should be merge
- {{Review}} - marks a page as needing review and adds them to Category:Articles for review.
- {{SME review}} - suggest a page be reviewed by a Subject matter expert
- {{Speech}} - marks a page as being a speech. It also categorizes the article into Category:Speeches
