Template documentationUse the {{OrphanFile | Date=<date flagged as an orphan file>}} template to flag a file that has no pages linking to it, and so is "orphaned". Orphan files may be seen under Category:Orphan files.

Usage
The template has two use cases. The use case we ask everyone to use is to include a date the file was flagged as an orphan. It takes the form: {{OrphanFile|Date=<date flagged as an orphan file>}} or {{OrphanFile|<date flagged as an orphan file>}}.
The second use case eliminates the date and creates a generic banner. Using this second option is discouraged, as before more drastic actions are taken such as deletion, administrators will want to be able to see that adequate notice was given that there was a problem.
